I’m in a back brace 24/7, I’m taking Tylenol every 4 hours when I’m working and Vicoden when I’m not, I walk like an 80 year old penguin pregnant with twins and worst of all; I’m driving the Odyssey instead of my Ranger because driving stick hurts my back. It’s probably a good thing though, because I’m due for an oil change within the next gas fill up and I’m 90% sure my front brakes are dragging due to sticking slide pins. So driving something else is probably good until I can change my oil and install the brake pads and brake hardware kit I have sitting in the passenger footwell.

Also the Van is so much better to get in and out of. My brother took me shopping in his Outback today and I had so much trouble getting in and out of it, he had to buckle my seat belt for me. I can't drive anything low right now. I see why old people drive Scion XBs now

Are they just taking a wait and see approach? Do you know what triggered it?

Welcome to the club. I have two herniated discs in my lower back and another in my neck. The herniations are pressing down on my nerves and causing constant pain. It’s from my accident back in April. Medication doesn’t work, because as it turns out, I have a super-fast metabolism. I cannot get drunk, and will die from alchol poisioning before I get drunk. The epidral I received as treatment (same thing they give women in labor) only made things worse, and I’m still scheduled for two more. So, you’re not alone in pain. The only thing I can recommend is lots of rest and stretching.

My primary said it was a spasm, but I have a long list of in network chiropractors to start calling on monday. I think I wanna get an xray too, the pain is scarily close to my lower ribs but feels muscular.

Im a huge lightweight. I can get drunk off of 2 glasses of 13% wine. So I dont have that issue. And Im resting as much as I can when Im not working. And I move as little as possible at work. My supervisor lets me sit on a stool when Im not delivering parts and he gives me help loading the truck. But the sales guys give me a hard time by saying things like “If I got paid what you did and did as little work as you Id be rich” and stuff like that, its kinda annoying.

Oh, PS: Im a delivery driver for oreilly auto parts

Yeah, I hate those jokes, too. I still work at my warehouse job, with not a single vacation since I started 9 years ago. Unfortunately I have a family to take care of (and tons of bills) and can’t take any time off. Massages also work great, if not temporarily, but at the moment you’d trade relief for anything.

Hope you can find one to help. I have spasms sometimes because I have screws in my back that can irritate the muscles. If I can lay on my back with my feet up a wall it can help relax things but you probably can't even get into that position yet.

Since Ive been wearing the brace, Ive gotten better, but Im still incredibly sore and have limited mobility. But hey, I dont wake up screaming in pain at 4am anymore so thats a plus

Best of luck. Lemme know if you need anything. The chiro I used doesn't take insurance, but I wasn't too fond of him anyway.

Any Osteopaths (DO instead of MD) in your network? They’ve got more “bone bending” training than chiropractors and they’re real doctors. You’re a bit less likely to run across a quack.

Panorama Orthopedic has a couple, I think. That place is like a second home for me.

That really sucks. Take care of yourself and feel better soon!

P.s. Your Orlove Baja Bug drawing is finally hanging in the home office. Thanks again.
